News From Foster Family:

Wally is an aussie who will always bring a smile to your face.  He is an older fellow and enjoys his quiet time soaking up the sun.  But don't let that fool you....he also loves to go for walks and a ride in the car.  Wally came to us as a very obese boy.  He weighed in at 90 lbs, which is about 40 lbs too much!  He has been on a diet and now weighs about 70 lbs.  You can tell that he obviously feels much better  with the weight loss.

Wally is deaf and blind.  He can see shapes and shadows.  Wally is also taking a daily medication for arthritis and hip pain.

Wally does enjoy a swim in the pool, but care must be taken not to get his ears wet, or to make sure they are completed dried
inside afterwards.

My Ideal Companions:

Wally would most enjoy a doggie companion that is of a low or medium activity level and will respect his golden years.

My Perfect Home:

Wally would love a forever home that will take him on daily walks and occasional car rides.  He likes to help out on his walks by holding the leash.  Wally likes to sleep in the same room as his humans.  He has a difficult time navigating steps, so a single level home would be best.

His forever home would need to monitor his weight (he would eat all the time if he had his way!) and continue giving his current nutritional supplements.

Rescue History:

Wally came to us from a local shelter.  He was found wandering the streets in the hot summer.  He had severe ear infections and inflamed eyes.  An appointment at the eye clinic confirmed that he has cataracts on both eyes and left untreated most likely caused his current vision impairments.  He was also severely obese and had difficulty standing up.
