News From Foster Family:

Lukas is an active deaf boy that loves to play.  He has very nice manners with humans, and is a bit over excited to play with doggie friends.  Lukas does very well in the house, is housebroken and crate trained.  He can be left alone and trusted to play with his designated toys.  Lukas is learning how to play nicely with other dogs without overwhelming them.

My Ideal Companions:

Lukas needs doggie playmates that play at the same intensity as he does and are about the same size.  He is never aggressive, just overly excited at playtime.  Another herding dog would be the best playmate for him.

My Perfect Home:

Lukas needs a forever home that will do activities with him.  He is not a stay at home kind of guy.  He loves to go on walks and will carry a back pack.  Lukas is very play focused and currently gets distracted when he sees another potential buddy...especially another herding dog.  He will need to be kept on a leash at this point when outside his fenced in yard or he may run off to play.

Rescue History:

Lukas was an owner turn in to the animal shelter.  He lived mostly confined in a mobile home from the time he was 8 wks old until he was dropped off.    He was tied with a chain and harness when outside for exercise.  His owner was physically unable to walk him.  Unfortunately, she was misinformed as to his need for vaccinations and therefore he had never received any.  When he was dumped at the shelter, he contracted parvo.   Lucky for Lukas, the rescue that pulled him from the shelter had him treated as well.  (Thank you Lotti and HALT!!)
